And Today’s Secret Word Is...

Doxycycline!

It’s my way of saying, the cough that would never leave has never left and we’ve now kicked it up a notch. No I, don’t have pneumonia, SARS, tuberculosis, asthma, black lung disease or West Nile, but I’ve been tested for all of them. Except for the fact that I can’t breathe without exhaling some form of liquid, I’m in very good health. This is Week 4 of non stop coughing, If I go to week 5 watching large chunks of watery seaweed like material coming out of mouth, its all over.

So, how’s Doxycycline? Oh it’s not so bad. But it did take me a half hour to write this and my legs feel like they are made of silly putty. Blogging will have to wait a couple of days.

For every doctor who graduated at the top of his class there's another one who graduated at the bottom.

So, which one you got ?

"Comfortably numb" can be a good thing.

Think "cartoons"... Incredibles, Stripes, Buckaroo Banzi and the like.

Enjoy.

Be well.

ok, rather than make a whole new post, heres the status.

Things are Better - but not all the way out of the woods just yet. Im off the supplemental oxygen, which is good. Im still on Doxycycline. The coughing is almost gone, and I can sleep for the first time in 5 weeks.

Im going to take it easy just a couple more days just to be sure, but I think the worst is over.

The Dr. and I have known each other for 15 years. He knows me well enough to know that I dont show up unless Im sick. So when I showed up three weeks in a row, he took it real personally. Hes a good guy. The actualy diagnosis is that this is a massive mega case of bronchitis, which by itself is one problem, but during the bronchitis, I tore some my air passages, which were then infected, which is what was causing the blood to appear when I coughed.

Yeah, thats gross to hear but try living with it for 5 weeks.
