Good call!
One minor correction: if memory serves, the Interstate Highway Act was not approved and signed by President Eisenhower until 1956 (an election year), and construction didn't get seriously underway for some time thereafter.

Frank, the step you're missing here is the essential difference: building a wall isn't just difficult, it's stupid and pointless and will lose a half-dozen border states for the Republicans if it succeeds.
