Murtha: Marines killed Iraqis ‘in cold blood’
A Pentagon probe into the death of Iraqi civilians last November in the Iraqi city of Haditha will show that U.S. Marines "killed innocent civilians in cold blood," a U.S. lawmaker said Wednesday.
Full story can be found here.
My thoughts:
1. Investigate the accusations. Oh sorry, looks like thats already underway, so its looks like the Marines are already doing their job. Well there you go.
2. When it is finally revealed that there is nothing to this, I want Murtha up on House ethics charges. He has endangered American lives for political gain, nothing more, nothing less.
3. When a member of the legislature takes any action that might impact an ongoing investigation, thats is crossing the line. Justice is not served by giving up talking points on the Chris Matthews show.
4. Thousands of innocent Iraqis have been routinely killed by Al queda since the end of the war. Absolutely none of them will ever be charged with any crime. But thats not the surprise here, its that no one thinks that those deaths have been a crime, including Murtha.
5. Get ready for copycat stories. Now that Iraq has a government and we have clearly beaten Al queda ( which they say in their own words ) we have can now see the next move in their strategy is to discredit the US in any way they can, including getting the world to believe that the only deaths in Iraq are due to the US military and not the actions of Osamas murdering thugs.

I disagree completely.
He should be up on ethics charges WHETHER OR NOT the allegations are true.
