A random thought - Locust season
On what part of the population is the entire election going to turn?
It occurs to me that the very people most likely to vote for Obama in this election are the exact same people who took out subprime loans to buy homes that cost nine times their annual earnings, only to walk away from the mortgage a year later because they were shocked to find that the bank wanted their mortgage payments each and every month. You know these people, the exact same folks who with their complete inability to understand the meaning of the word "VARIABLE" have now managed to so destroy the world economy to a point where the words "Great Depression" are no longer descriptive enough for the situation we face.
And now these same people want to put a marxist in the White House and increase the power of Congress. Oh yes, that will help, thanks for that guys. Good Work Kids!, 7,000 years of western civilization completly undone in one generation and its all to be replaced with a governmental system that incorporates the social dynamism found in "Lord of the Flies" and fiscal soundness thats found in each and every PBS pledgebreak.

Actually, Frank, this has been about three generations in the making.
The Left has been a cancer eating away at the heart of the West since the end of WWI. When they saw what Western Civ had done to itself during the War, they turned on it with a vengeance, and have been acting always against its interests ever since, promoting socialism (which they already believed in) all the while utterly ignoring socialisms even greater failures and depredations, denegrating the West and all its inventions and institutions, from the free market to Republicanism, liberty, and the freedom of the individual.

I refuse to get to upset by the polls because I have a beloved niece of 25-intelligent, passionate in her political beliefs and --yet, young...who argued with me about the 2004 election for months and yet-DID NOT VOTE. Nor did anyone she knew because "they were not into it that day...". That and the Bradley Effect make me wonder about these polls. At least they keep me from despairing...

You have to factor in the women votes. Regardless of their political persuasion, they represent a huge 50% voting block. Conservatives will vote for McCain/Palin; Far Left women will vote for Obama/Biden.
The angry Hillary voters are more than likely to vote McCain/Palin AGAINST Obama/Democratic Party that backstabbed Hillary.
Then you have the Florida tilting AGAINST Obama/Democratic Party rules changed that essential robbed them of their votes.
What is left are the UNDECIDED which can be 50% women. For them, having a female VP is too good an opportunity to pass up.
My hope is that if McCain/Palin win, they win by a landslide so that the MSM and the far left Democrats cannot play victims. They lost because Obama/Biden are an EMPTY SUIT/OLD POLITICS team.
